MOUNT OLIVE - The University of Mount Olive Trojans open their season with a 15-4 loss to Catawba University at home.
Mount Olive had a slow first half only having four shots one being on goals but senior goalie
Kurtis Lensing held down the goal saving four of the seven shots on goal. Lensing was consistent with saves throughout the whole game.
On attack, senior
Benjamin Vanderkley finished with a hat-trick making him the goal leader in today's match-up. Vanderkley proved the player he is today by dominating the offense evening having the assist to the other goal made by
Joshua Dewart. The Trojans were dominate on faceoffs winning 14, six more than Catawba.
Brayden Rieger and
Charles Gott were also key players in the game, as both were awarded an assist on Vanderkley's goals.
