MISENHEIMER - The Mount Olive women's cross country team finished third overall at the Pfeiffer University Cross Country Invitational Friday evening.
Out of 12 teams, the Trojans finished third with 84 points. UMO followed Meredith College who finished with 42 points for second place and Winthrop who won the team title on 32 points.
Freshman Danielle Johnston led the pack for the Trojans, placing 7th, pacing 20.12.6 in the women's 5k.
Mount Olive saw two runners place just outside the top-15, who ran within a tenth of a second behind each other:
Natalie Baldwin in 16th (22:06.0) and Alexandria White in 17th (22:06.1).
Amongst the rest of the UMO finishers included Vanessa Skorski in 21st (22:23.6), Peyton Roebuck in 30th (23:27.7), and Maia Edminsten in 49th (25:43.9).
The next meet for the Trojans will be at the Chanticleer Challenge in Conway, S.C. hosted by Coastal Carolina.
