WINGATE – Hailey Morgan led the University of Mount Olive women's cross country team at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championships, placing 16th in the 6k.

Morgan paced the Trojans with a season-best time of 22:38.90, the top performance among Conference Carolinas runners. She finished just ahead of Lees-McRae's Megan Knapp (17th, 22:44.40).

Other finishers for Mount Olive included Danielle Johnston (67th, 24:21.86), Alexandria White (82nd, 24:48.81), Natalie Baldwin (104th, 25:49.28), Audrey Nelson (162nd, 29:09.00), and Maia Edmisten (30:09.91).

Mount Olive finished 15th out of 24 teams. The top five programs were Wingate (29), Catawba (45), Flagler (88), Anderson (S.C.) (114), and Augusta (166).
