HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – After three weeks off, the University of Mount Olive women's cross country team competed at the Sand Shark Invitational hosted by USC Beaufort on Saturday.

The Trojans placed fifth out of 13 teams. Georgia Southern claimed first place, followed by Southeastern University, SCAD Savannah, and USC Aiken.

Alexandria White led Mount Olive, finishing ninth with a time of 18:45.9 in the women's 5K. She was followed by Danielle Johnston (15th, 19:13.8), Natalie Baldwin (38th, 20:25.6), Peyton Roebuck (49th, 20:57.1), Audrey Nelson (69th, 22:05.6), and Maia Edmisten (78th, 23:24.7).

Mount Olive returns to action on October 24 at the Conference Carolinas Championship in Kernersville, N.C.
