GREENVILLE, S.C. (Aug. 26) –Following an east division conference champion
season, the University of Mount Olive women's volleyball team was voted fourth in the preseason Conference Carolina's
poll, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans enter the 2025 season with new leadership under head coach
Kevin Troup, while welcoming six newcomers to the program
. Last season, the Trojans posted an strong 20-8 overall record, including 16-2 in conference play.
Sophomore
Olivia Melvin returns after earning Conference Carolina's Freshman of the Year honors. She finished 2024 with 196 kills and 12 service aces.
Senior
Caroline Sheaffer led the Trojans with over 338 digs on a 96% reception rate last season. She was also one of the best servers in the conference last season with 42 service aces.
Kaitlyn Landis returns with over 150 kills and 18 total blocks, looking to increase her presence at the net.
Emmanuel tops the preseason poll with nine first-place votes after winning the 2024 Conference Carolina's Tournament Championship. Francis Marion ranked second with three first-place votes, followed by Converse, also with three first-place votes. Mount Olive holds the fourth spot, with North Greenville rounding out the top five.
The 2025 Conference Carolina's
Women's Volleyball Championship is scheduled to start with prelims on November 15 or 16 before the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be competed at the Student Center Complex on the campus of King University in Bristol, Tennessee on Nov. 21-23.
