Dominic Nutter is an NCAA All-American following a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division II National Championships, hosted at the Thunderbowl.
Nutter garners First-Team All-American honors in the hammer throw for the third time in his career and collected two team points for Mount Olive. The Trojans will post a team score on the national stage for the seventh time in program history. Nutter transferred to UMO this year for his final outdoor campaign after claiming four NCAA All-Americans at Walsh (two hammer throw, two weight throw).
On Thursday afternoon, he registered a seventh-place finish after a toss of 61.28 meters on his second attempt of the event. In the field, the top eight participants all finish with a distance of over 60 meters, including two athletes posting personal-best marks. Nutter closes out a stellar final season with the Trojans after capturing USTFCCCA All-Region honors, the Conference Carolinas hammer throw championship, and the Conference Carolinas record in the hammer.
