ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (March 8) – Despite holding a lead in the early portion of the second quarter, the Trojans were unable to hold off nationally-ranked No. 6 Lynn in an 18-7 loss on Saturday afternoon in a neutral site contest on the campus of Flagler.
With the loss, the University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse program falls to 1-5 this season after facing a fourth-straight nationally ranked opponent. It marked the second meeting between the sides, as the Fighting Knights have won both games by double-digit goals. Meanwhile, Lynn continues its undefeated run with a 6-0 record, including a pair of overtime wins.

Reese Weddle scored a hat trick to climb her goal total to seven this season. Fifth-year
Logan Hibbard finished with one goal, one assist, four draw controls, and one ground ball.
Lynn registered the opening goal of the contest at the 11:53 mark before the Trojans countered with goals from Weddle and Hibbard, 2-0. The Fighting Knights tied the contest 2-2 with just over three minutes left in the quarter before redshirt sophomore
Katie Broom netted a goal at the 1:17 mark, 3-2. In the second quarter, Lynn knotted the contest at 3-3 before senior
Rileigh White scored on a man-up chance off an assist by sophomore
Caroline Clark, 4-3. Weddle tallied another goal to extend the lead to 5-3, but the Fighting Knights flipped the script with six unanswered goals to close out the half with a 9-5 lead.
Weddle completed her hat trick in the initial minutes of the third quarter, but the Lynn offense remained aggressive, scoring eight straight to hold a 17-6 advantage. Junior
Maddy Fratus managed to score the final goal for the Trojans at the 2:41 mark of the fourth in an 18-7 loss on Saturday.

Anna James collected nine saves on 34 shots faced in 53-plus minutes of play.
The Trojans will continue their Florida trip on Monday, March 10, with a non-conference matchup at Flagler set for noon.
