CENTRAL, S.C. (Feb. 8) – The No. 17 ranked University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse program tied its single-game program record for goals following a 28-0 shutout at Southern Wesleyan in the Conference Carolinas opener on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Trojans begin the 2025 slate with a 1-0 record after being chosen as the preseason favorite in the Conference Carolinas poll. In eight all-time meetings against the Warriors, Mount Olive has scored 20-plus goals in seven of those eight matchups. Additionally, the Trojans extend their Conference Carolinas undefeated streak to an impressive 44 straight wins. Meanwhile, the Warriors drop to 1-1 this season after defeating Emory & Henry in their season-opener last week.
Offensively, the Trojans featured 15 different goal scorers to tie their program record with 28 goals on Saturday afternoon. Fifth Year
Logan Hibbard, the reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, delivered a 10-point performance with four goals and six assists while adding 12 draw controls. Graduate student
Sara Livingstone and redshirt sophomore
Katie Broom netted hat tricks and one assist while six additional players registered two goals.
The Trojans quickly climbed out to a 7-0 advantage in the initial six-plus minutes of the quarter, including back-to-back goals from junior
Alexa Fitzgerald and Hibbard in just 12 seconds. Mount Olive would tally five more goals and out-shoot the opponent by a 20-0 margin in the first quarter. With the running clock initiated, UMO still managed to net eight goals in the second quarter from eight different players. The Trojans went into halftime with a 20-0 lead and a 33-0 shot advantage.

Ava Mullen scored consecutive goals before junior
Maddy Fratus and sophomore
Caroline Clark registered goals to stretch the lead to 24-0. The Trojans contributed four insurance goals in the final quarter of play to secure a dominant 28-0 victory on the road.

Simone McCraw led the defensive backline with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Mount Olive finished with a 45-2 shot advantage over the Warriors while boasting a 24-6 edge in draw controls.
The Trojans will host their home opener on Saturday, Feb. 15, versus Belmont Abbey at 5 p.m.
