FROSTBURG, Md. (Feb. 2) – The freshmen duo of Lillian Prendergast and O'marzria Wright captured third-place finishes on Saturday, as the University of Mount Olive women's wrestling program competed in individual competition at the Bobcat Open.

The Trojans featured five wrestlers at the event with Wright and Prendergast securing their fourth podium finish of the season.

In the 103-weight class, Prendergast posted a 3-1 record with an incredible run through the consolation bracket to place third overall. Following a bye, she was pinned in the first round of the quarterfinals. In the consolation bracket, Prendergast defeated Faith Day of Frostburg via fall before producing a 47-second first-round pin against Charvi Bethu of Frostburg State. In the third-place match, she earned a hard-fought 9-8 decision over Tiffany Stoshak of Scared Heart.

Wright delivered a 4-1 record in the 110-weight class to claim a third-place finish while competing in Maryland. She earned a 10-0 tech fall over Nila Bland of West Liberty before falling into the consolation bracket after suffering a loss due to injury default. Wright responded with four straight victories, including three straight shutout tech falls. In the third-place match, she produced a dominant 15-4 tech fall versus Kylee Bentley.

Mount Olive returns to the mat on Thursday, Feb. 6, when it hosts Newberry on Senior Day, starting at 6 p.m.
