MOUNT OLIVE - The University of Mount Olive women's wrestling team secured a school -record five national qualifiers for the 2026 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships.
Mount Olive has now sent wrestlers to nationals in four consecutive seasons.
The 2026 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships will take place on March 6-7 at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa, co-hosted by the University of Iowa and the Iowa City Area Sports Commission.
Representing the Trojans on the national stage will be Lillian Prendergast (103 lbs), Katie Simmons (110), Kaylse Hill (138), Journey Land (180), and Zaria Robinson (207).
Prendergast and Simmons each secured third place finishes at the regional. Prendergast, the top seed in her weight class, earned a first-round bye before and finished with a 3-1 record, while Simmons went 4-1 in her bracket.
Hill, Land, and Robinson each captured runner-up finishes after advancing to the finals of their respective weight classes. Hill and Robinson posted 3-1 records, with Land went 2-1 after receiving a first-round bye as the tournament's second seed.
Mount Olive finished third at the 2026 NCAA Women's Wrestling Regional Site #3, hosted Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, Ga. The Trojans placed just behind No. 10-ranked Emmanuel and No.5-ranked Presbyterian College.
UMO's five individual national qualifiers were the second most in Conference Carolinas, trailing only Emmanuel with six. King finished with four qualifiers and Allen added one.
