Women's Wrestlng Concludes Season at 2026 NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships

CORALVILLE, Iowa – The University of Mount Olive women's wrestling team concluded its 2025–26 season on Friday, with five Trojans competing at the 2026 NCAA Women's Wrestling National Championships in Coralville, Iowa.

Mount Olive was represented by Lilian Prendergast (103) ranked 10th, Katie Simmons (110) ranked 9th, Kalyse Hill (138) ranked 13th, Journey Land (180) ranked 10th, and Zaria Robinson (207) ranked 15th, competing against some of the nation's top programs.

Prendergast began the 103-pound championship preliminary round with a technical fall (12-2) over Jesenia Camargo of Eastern at 4:04. She then fell 4-0 to Aurora's Genesis Ramirez after a late scramble and was narrowly outscored 9-7 by Rebekah Jean-Baptiste of Emmanuel (Ga.) in the consolation bracket.

At 110 pounds, Simmons battled through two tough matchups. She was defeated in the championship preliminary round by Adriana Gomez of Colorado Mesa via technical fall before falling in the consolation round to Felician's Theresa Zeppetelli.

Hill competed at 138 pounds, dropping her opening match to Ruby Julien-Newsom of King (Tenn.) and then falling to Lilly Luft of Iowa in the consolation bracket.

At 180 pounds, Land fell to Norwich's Ay'Seante Ross in the preliminary round, then earned a 4-4 upset decision victory over No. 5 ranked Abbie Miles of Northern Michigan in the consolation prelim. bracket before being eliminated by Madeline Hodges of Sacred Heart in first round of consolations.

At 207 pounds, Robinson competed against a strong bracket, falling to Grand Valley State's Sabrina Nauss in the opening round before Peyton Fries of York secured a fall in the consolation round.

The NCAA Championships marked the final competition of the season for the Trojans. Mount Olive's national qualifiers capped a season in which the program continued to compete against the top women's wrestling programs in the country while gaining valuable experience on the national stage.
