Mount Olive, NC – UMO receives multiple selections for All-Conference from the league office on Friday afternoon. First team selections include Lily Prendergast and
Journey Land, with
Kalyse Hill and
Katie Simmons receiving second team nominations.
Prendergast, a sophomore hailing from Southport, NC, finished the season with a 26-4 record, absolutely dominating in duals with a single loss across all duals. She was able to gain 4 Tech Falls and 11 pins, in addition to winning the Tornado Open. She is currently ranked 2nd in the region according to the latest poll.
Currently 2nd in the region, Land is 25-7 in the season, having been ranked nationally multiple times and has multiple wins in opens such as the Tornado Open and SVU Open. The redshirt senior from Little Rock, AR, also has 3+ conference dual wins on the season.
The freshman Hill, from Daphne, AL, is currently ranked 5th in the region with an impressive 22-10 record, featuring close losses against top-ranked opponents. She placed top 3 in the Red Lady Open and then followed it with four wins against conference opponents in the closing duals of the season.
Finally, Simmons, a freshman coming from Wilmington, NC, finishes 18-7 as a freshman, with a 5th place finish in the ESU Open. She was able to win each match with a tech fall or pin across the entire season.
Mount Olive competes today and tomorrow in the Southeast Regional Tournament to attempt to move on to NCWWC Nationals, which is held in Coralville, Iowa.
