Trojans Picked Fourth in Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's cross country team was picked to finish fourth in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office.

The Trojans earned 155 points to place fourth overall. Back-to-back Conference Carolinas champion North Greenville topped the poll with 209 points and 13 first-place votes, while Converse followed closely in second with 198 points and the remaining two first-place votes. Lees-McRae was selected third with 172 points, while Mount Olive finished ahead of King, which rounded out the top five with 150 points.

Mount Olive returns several key contributors heading into the 2026 season, including Alex White, Claire Aponte and Danielle Johnston, who were each selected as runners to watch.

White enters her senior season after earning Second Team All-Conference Carolinas honors in 2025. Aponte begins her freshman campaign after earning Second Team All-Southeast Region recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Johnston also returns for her junior season as part of the Trojans' experienced group heading into 2026.

The 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Championship is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, at Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with the race set to begin at 9 a.m.
