LYNCHBURG, Va. (Jan. 10) – Sophomore
Ryan Wilson-McCoy hit the NCAA Provisional Standard in the triple jump for the second time this season on Friday, as the Trojans returned from winter break to compete at The Burg Open hosted by the University of Lynchburg.
In the triple jump, Wilson-McCoy registered a distance of 14.68 meters to place second overall while competing is his second competition of the year. Junior
Brendin Marks improved his league qualifying mark in the event after leaping 13.75 meters to finish fourth overall. Freshman
Wonderful Fadipe placed fifth overall with a mark of 13.65 meters.

Jon Crymes, Jr., won the event with a league-best time of 3:25.33 and set a new meet record.
In the long jump, sophomore
Zacharie Fedelus placed first overall after posting a distance of 6.97 meters to improve his conference standard in the event. Marks established a qualifying mark with a leap of 6.76 meters to finish fourth while junior
Andrew Pender recorded a fifth-place finish with a mark of 6.75 meters.
Leach claimed an event victory in the 200-meter dash and eclipsed the league standard with a time of 22.07 seconds while competing in Virginia. Hart placed second overall after crossing the line in 22.17 seconds and Crymes, Jr. qualified with a third-place finish following a time of 22.31 seconds. Freshman
Jacoby Pevia also improved his conference qualifying mark after crossing the line in 22.60 seconds to finish seventh.
Sophomore
Sigursteinn Asgeirsson improved his league mark and placed second in the shot put with a toss of 15.74 meters, which ties for second all-time at Mount Olive. Senior
Nicholas Cloud finished fourth in the field with a distance of 14.74 meters.
In the weight throw, Mount Olive featured four individuals in the top five overall in a field of 21 participants. Senior
Micah Harrison finished runner-up in the event with a mark of 15.84 meters while freshman Caleb Bass improved his conference standard with a massive toss of 15.51 meters to place third. Sophomore
Adam Turner recorded a fourth-place finish with an improved distance of 15.48 meters and sophomore
Matthew Heywood finished fifth overall with a mark of 14.92 meters.
Junior
Jamavie Glover posted the fifth-fastest time in program history in the prelims with a mark of 6.95 seconds in the 60-meter dash before placing fifth in the finals. Pevia and freshman
Leland Smith established conference standards in the event after crossing the line in 6.99 seconds in the finals, which ranked eighth all-time at UMO.
Senior
Riley Willcox registered a league qualifying mark in the mile with a time of 4:24.28.
In the 400 meters, Saul earned a fifth-place finish and qualified after crossing the line in 50.76 seconds.
The Trojans return to action next weekend on Jan. 17-18 for the Finn Pincus Invite in Salem, Virginia.
