CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 13) – Competing at McAlpine Park on Friday evening, the University of Mount Olive women's cross country team posted a 10th-place finish in the team standings as the field featured over 100 runners.
For a consecutive week, freshman
Alex White led the team after crossing the line in 20 minutes, 32.63 seconds to place 48th overall in the five-kilometer race hosted by Queens University of Charlotte.
Freshman
Alyssa Callihan delivered a 74th-place finish with a time of 22:25.42 while senior
Caroline Allred finished with a mark of 25:03.26 to place 93rd overall on Friday. Senior
Josie Kilborn crossed the line in 27:55.55 to finish 102nd and teammate Victoria Badgett rounded out the team scorers in 109th after posting a time of 33:10.20.
Queens junior Beth Cook earned the individual title by just over eight seconds with a final time of 17:36.22.
The Trojans will be idle for three weeks before competing at the Pirate Invitational hosted by ECU at Overton's Lake Kristi in Greenville, South Carolina, on Friday, Oct. 4.
