MURFREESBORO, N.C. (April 3) – After scoring four or more goals in all four quarters on Wednesday afternoon, the University of Mount Olive secured a 21-5 victory on the road against Chowan in Conference Carolinas action.
With the win, the Trojans stretch their winning streak to five in a row and improve to 7-3 overall behind a 4-0 record in league action. Mount Olive holds a perfect 7-0 mark against Chowan in the all-time series with five double-digit victories. Meanwhile, the Hawks fall to 4-6 this season with a 1-3 mark in conference play.
Senior
Aidan Lalonde eclipsed the 30-goal mark this season following a seven-point performance with five goals and two assists. Fifth-year
Chaz Goodman registered three goals and three assists on Wednesday, while sophomore
Benjamin Vanderkley delivered his third hat trick of the year.
In the first quarter, the Trojans established a quick 5-0 advantage, as Lalonde scored back-to-back goals in a four-minute stretch to begin the contest. Vanderkley extended the lead to 3-0 at the 8:37 mark before senior

Matthew Ateshian tallied the fifth goal of the game with 3:31 left in the first before the Hawks got on the board in the closing minutes, 5-1. Mount Olive totaled five more goals in the second quarter with Goodman and senior
Jack Lewis both scoring twice while Lalonde capped his first-half hat trick in the final minutes, 10-1.
The Trojans recorded seven unanswered goals in the third quarter behind five different goal scorers. Sophomore
Hudson Karasek scored in the initial minute of the third before Lalonde netted his fourth goal of the contest, 14-1. Sophomore
Joshua Dewart registered his first goal of the season at the 11:24 mark before Lalonde added to his score sheet again to build a 14-1 advantage. Vanderkley completed his hat trick with consecutive goals before Goodman finished his hat trick to take a 17-1 lead. The Hawks scored the final goal of the quarter to trail by a 17-2 margin. Caleb Tatum delivered a goal, 21-2. Chowan scored three times in the final three-plus minutes, as the Trojans claimed a 21-5 victory.

Kurtis Lensing registered the win after recording six saves in 45 minutes of action. Sophomore
Jack Isaacs played the entire fourth quarter and registered one save. Defensively, junior
Dominic Puhalj caused three turnovers and totaled two ground balls.
Redshirt junior
Josh Mauer finished 12-of-18 on faceoffs while collecting eight ground balls.
Mount Olive returns to Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex on Saturday, April 6, to face Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas play, starting at 3 p.m.
