CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (March 9) – Junior Samantha Miller posted a third-place finish at 109, the highest-ever individual finish in UMO women's wrestling history, as the Trojans placed ninth overall at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Coalition (NCWWC) National Championships hosted at the Alliant Energy Power House.

The University of Mount Olive women's wrestling team posted a ninth-place finish with 39.5 points, which marks the best finish in program history. Iowa captured the NCWWC National Championship with 204 points, while North Central (IL) (198.0) and King (163.0) rounded out the top three. The Trojans featured a pair of All-Americans in Miller (109) and sophomore Jada Arnold (191).

Miller received a victory in the fifth-round consolation due to injury before advancing to the semifinals. She overcame an 8-0 deficit in the first period and scored six straight points before pinning Jaslynn Gallegos of North Central, a defending national champion. In the third-place match, Miller avenged her quarterfinal loss and defeated No. 1 ranked Kendra Ryan of North Central with a first-period fall to claim third place, the highest individual finish for a UMO women's wrestler at nationals.

Arnold reached the podium for a second straight year and placed eighth overall in the 191 weight class. In a rematch from the championship bracket, Arnold suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to Sara Lake of Lindenwood in the fifth-round consolation. In the seventh-place match, Arnold was defeated by a 10-0 tech fall by Jayleen Sekona of Colorado Mesa to finish eighth.
