FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. (Feb. 24) – In the second conference game of the season, the University of Mount Olive's women's lacrosse team dominated with a 23-7 win over the Emmanuel Lions on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Trojans improve to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in league play. This win also extends UMO's win streak over the Lions to 8-0 dating back to 2015. Meanwhile, Emmanuel falls to 5-1 overall with a 0-1 mark in conference play.
In the first quarter of the contest, UMO was able to score 11 goals. In the opening five minutes of the game, junior

Bria Hamilton scored two goals each, 4-0. In response, Emmanuel put one past the keeper. Shortly after, senior
Logan Hibbard put one in the back of the cage along with back-to-back goals by Hamilton, 7-1. Closing the first quarter, junior
Teagan Dunnett completed a hat-trick and White scored to end the initial 15 minutes leading 11-1. At the start of the second quarter, the Lions hit the net at the 14:10 mark, 11-2. Following a goal by junior
Lena DeFilippo, 12-2, EC was able to score, 12-3. In response, DeFilippo scored again to initiate the running clock rule, 13-3. Finishing the first half, the Trojans saw goals from White, Hibbard, Hamilton, and two goals by junior
Jenna Mish, 18-3.
At the start of the second half, the Lions were able to put one between the pipes, 18-4. With goals by freshman

Madalyn DeGarlais, the Trojans took the 16-point lead, 20-4. In the last frame of the game, sophomore transfer
Hailey Morgan ripped a shot on a man-up opportunity, 21-4. To follow, freshman
Kayanna Bowden took advantage of the man-up opportunity and scored her second goal of the year, 22-4. With three more goals by Emmanuel, their offensive efforts were not enough as Morgan scored another goal to seal the 23-7 win.

UMO held a 38-19 shot advantage while boasting a 32-14 edge in shots on goal over the Lions.
Hamilton totaled nine points collecting five goals and four assists. White also collected four goals and one assist.
As a team, Mount Olive forced 10 turnovers, collected 12 groundballs, and snagged 19 draw controls.
