UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio (Feb. 11) – In the final regular season tournament of the season, the Trojans captured four individual titles and a trio of runner-up finishes while competing at the JCU Open on Sunday.

The University of Mount Olive women's wrestling team featured 15 indivuduals at the tournament and claimed four titles across nine weight classes. The Trojans totaled 31 victories, including 18 falls and nine tech falls in Ohio. Junior Samantha Miller garnered her third straight individual title while competing in the 109-weight class.

Miller posted an unblemished 5-0 record at 109 with three falls to continue her stellar season with Mount Olive. She registered a fall in the opening round over Allison Hancher of Indiana Tech before collecting a pair of victories over her fellow teammates in the bracket. In the fourth round, Miller delivered a 34-second fall in the first period against Melany Herrera of John Carroll. In her final bout, she produced a pin in just 40 seconds versus Zoey Salmons to complete the event with a perfect record.

In the 116-weight class, freshman Ayonna McNeill claimed her second title of the year after picking up a pair of victories. She recorded a 12-2 tech fall versus Riley Horvath of Indiana Tech before securing an 11-4 decision against Leela Elliott of NYCRTC.

Freshman Angelica Steffy (136/143) collected her second straight title while delivering a 4-0 record on Sunday. She registered a fall in the opening round over Sumayyah Kemp before pinning Gwyneth Edwards of John Carroll. In the fourth round, she produced a 10-0 tech fall versus Brooklyn Figueroa of Indiana Tech before completing the day with another 10-0 tech fall against Hayleeh Martinez.

In the 191 weight class, sophomore Jada Arnold posted an impressive 4-0 to earn the individual title. She registered a first-period pin over Christina Connally before defeating Christina Schmidt in the following round by fall. Arnold went on to record another fall over Lyndsee Young and finished the event with a 10-0 tech fall over her fellow teammate in the bracket.

The NCWWC Region II Championships will take place in two weeks on Feb. 23-24 in Franklin Springs, Georgia.
