SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Nov. 9) – The University of Mount Olive women's cross country team finished 26th overall in the team standings on Saturday morning while competing at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships.
The Trojans made their first appearance in the regional meet as a team since 2021 and featured five runners in the field. Wingate secured a third consecutive regional crown with 33 points after all five scoring runners placed among the top 15 on the leaderboard. Flagler finished second in the team standings with 78 points and featured the individual champion while Catawba rounded out the top three with 86 points.
For the fifth time in six races, freshman
Alex White led the Trojans with a time of 28 minutes, 26.8 seconds to place 157th overall in the six-kilometer race. Senior Josie Kilbron finished directly behind in 158th after crossing the line in 28:26.9 while competing at the Milliken Research Park, which hosted the Conference Carolinas Championship this year. Caroline Allred posted a time of 29:00.8 to finish 164th in the field while four positions back freshman
Alyssa Callihan placed 168th with a mark of 29:34.6. Fellow freshman Victoria Badgett rounded out the team after crossing the line at 37:40.7 to finish 179th overall.
Flagler senior Taylor Stone secured individual medalist honors by five seconds with a time of 21:04.5 behind an average mile pace of 5:39.
