CLINTON, S.C. (Nov. 17) – The University of Mount Olive women's wrestling team featured five individuals on the podium on Sunday and placed fourth in the team standings while competing at the Blue Hose Challenge hosted by Presbyterian.

The Trojans totaled 77.5 points in the team standings with over 15 teams attending the event. Presbyterian captured the team title with 303.5 points with all nine wrestlers reaching the podium. Life finished second overall with 110.5 points while Lindsey Wilson rounded out the top three with 83.5 points.

Sophomore Savannah Bramhall finished third in the 160-weight class behind a 4-1 record after making her season debut earlier this week in a dual versus Emory & Henry. She earned falls in her initial two bouts defeating Savannah Pitts of Huntingdon and Kascidy Garren of Presbyterian. Bramhall was pinned in the semifinals of the bracket by No. 10 ranked May Cuyler of Presbyterian. She rebounded in the consolation bracket with a win via fall over Cathua Timas of Allen before capturing third with another fall over Garren.

In the 207-weight class, sophomore Andrea Smith posted a 3-1 record to claim third place at the Blue Hose Challenge. She dropped the opening match by 13-0 tech fall to No. 10 ranked Maria Aiono before responding with three consecutive wins. Smith earned two falls in under one minute against Avianna Velarde of Newberry and Eve Jenkins of Apprentice School. In the third-place match, she pinned Jayna Rolland of Allen to reach the podium.

Freshman Lillian Prendergast continued her outstanding first year with the program with a third-straight podium finish at 103. She posted a 3-1 mark despite dropping her opening match to Jordan Epstein of Huntingdon by a 4-2 decision. In the consolation bracket, Prendergast rallied with three straight victories, starting with a first-round fall over Grace York of Presbyterian. She followed up with an 11-0 tech fall versus Alyssa Archer of Lindsey Wilson before defeating Epstein in a rematch by a 6-3 decision to place third overall in her respective weight class.

In the 110-weight class, freshman O'marzria Wright produced a 3-1 record to finish third on the podium on Sunday. She won her opening match versus Annalise Maralit of Presbyterian by a 10-7 decision before losing in the semifinals to Kaci Bice of Life by a narrow 9-8 decision. Wright answered with a 10-0 tech fall over Payton Agnell of Lindsey Wilson and a pin versus Maralit to secure third place.

Sophomore Reagan Smith competed at 180 and placed fifth overall behind a 1-2 mark. She lost her first match to Lana Clayton of Presbyterian via fall before earning a bye in the consolation bracket. Smith suffered a loss to Clara Massa of Life before rebounding with a first-round pin against Morgan Thomas of Allen.

The Trojans return to the mat on Wednesday, Nov. 20, to face Lincoln Memorial in a conference dual at Kornegay Arena, starting at 6 p.m.
