Regional Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 2) – The University of Mount Olive field hockey program remained No. 3 in the third edition of the NCAA Atlantic Region rankings, which were released by the Field Hockey Committee on Wednesday.
The NCAA regional rankings determine the participants for the NCAA Tournament. The Atlantic Region consists of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
The top three teams from each of the two regions (Atlantic, East) will advance to the 2023 Division II Field Hockey Championships following the conclusion of the conference championships. The league champions (PSAC, NE-10, and SAC) do not receive automatic berths in the NCAA Tournament. After the selection show, the six-qualifying teams will be re-seeded No. 1 through No. 6 without consideration of region.
Shippensburg continues as the top-ranked team in the region with a 14-3 overall record while recording the No. 1 RPI (.671) and toughest strength of schedule. The Red Raiders secured the No. 2 seed in the PSAC Tournament and will face Kutztown in the semifinals. East Stroudsburg remains No. 2 in the rankings with a 15-2 mark and captured the No. 1 seed in the PSAC Tournament this weekend. Mount Olive (15-1) sits No. 3 after completing the undefeated conference regular season and extending the longest winning streak in Division II to 15 in a row. Kutztown (15-2) continues at No. 4 in the region, while Bloomsburg (14-4) rounds out the rankings.
