Victoria Morelli registered a top-20 finish on Tuesday, as the Trojans closed out the fall portion of their schedule with a 10th-place finish at the Converse Fall Invite hosted at Woodfin Ridge Golf Club.
The University of Mount Olive women's golf team carded a 97-over 961 (319-327-315) to place 10th out of 15 teams in the field, including six schools from the Conference Carolinas. Coker captured the invitational title by five strokes after shooting a 54-over 918 (298-312-308) with three golfers in the top 15 overall. Catawba placed second in the team standings with a 59-over 923 (303-310-310), while Newberry shot the lowest third round score to place third overall with a 60-over 924 (314-304-306).
Morelli led the Trojans and claimed her second top-20 finish of the season after tying for 17th overall on the individual leaderboard with a 17-over 233 (81-81-71) with six birdies and 32 pars. She fired a one-under 71 in the final round on Tuesday with four birdies, including three on the front nine.
Freshman
Lucie Levet tied for 36th overall after posting a 24-over 240 (79-81-80) with three birdies and 29 pars over three rounds. Six positions back, freshman
Valentina Agostino shot a 27-over 243 (78-85-80) with a trio of birdies and 27 pars.
Sophomore
Violette Daudin recorded her highest finish of the season after placing 49th overall with a 29-over 245 (81-80-84) behind a birdie and 27 pars. Freshman
Claire Beitel rounded out the team in 72nd place with a 42-over 258 (85-88-85) with two birdies and 28 pars.
Catawba senior Chloe Crane garnered individual medalist honors after carding a four-over 220 (69-75-76) with nine birdies and 32 pars over three rounds of play.
Mount Olive concluded its fall season on Tuesday after competing in four events, all in different states.
