MONROE – The University of Mount Olive women's golf team competed in a strong field at the Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate, hosted by Wingate University, finishing 16th overall out of 18 teams at the three-round tournament in Monroe.
The event featured one of the toughest fields Mount Olive has faced this season, with 12 teams ranked inside the national top 35 entering the tournament.
Host Wingate University claimed the team title at 10-under par, followed by Dallas Baptist University in second at +6 and University of Findlay in third at +16. Anderson (SC) finished fourth at +19, while Lee University rounded out the top five at +20.
Despite the highly competitive field, Mount Olive saw several solid individual performances throughout the tournament.
Lucie Levet paced the Trojans, finishing tied for 32nd at +10 for the tournament. Levet opened the event with a +2 round before posting back-to-back +4 rounds to close out play.
Claire Beitel placed tied for 72nd at +24, while
Valentina Agostino finished tied for 80th at +29.
Aoi Ito recorded an 82nd-place finish at +31, and
Violette Daudin rounded out the Mount Olive lineup tied for 83rd at +33.
Mount Olive will look to build on the experience gained against a nationally ranked field when the Trojans return to action at the Oldfield Intercollegiate, hosted by University of South Carolina Beaufort, on March 16–17 in Okatie.
