Trojans Fall on the Road to Converse College

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Trojans traveled to South Carolina Wednesday afternoon for a game against Converse College. Mount Olive fell 4-0 in the contest.

GAME INFORMATION
Railyn King got her second consecutive start in net for the Trojans. Three minutes into the game the Valkyries' Morgan Berndt registered the first shot of the game, finding the back of the net and giving Converse the lead, 1-0. King turned away the next two shots she faced, keeping the Trojans deficit to just one goal. 

The second quarter was a defensive battle. Neither team allowing a shot on goal until twelve minutes into the quarter when King blocked a scoring chance. Converse, proving to be persistent, fired another shot on goal twenty seconds later, this one finding the back of the net, putting the Valkyries up 2-0 just before halftime. 

The Valkyries continued their pursuit on offense in the second half. Adding two insurance goals, giving them a lead, and final victory of 4-0.

UP NEXT
The Trojans return to Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex next Tuesday, March 23rd, for senior day. They take on Queens University, beginning at 2 pm.
