Wilson, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team took down arch rival Barton College 1-0 in Conference Carolinas action, Wednesday afternoon in Wilson, N.C. 
 
Game Information
Mount Olive (7-0-2, 4-0-1) and Barton (5-3-1, 3-2-1) were unable to make much of an effort at breaking into the score book despite there being a total of 19 shots registered. UMO had a goal go in the back of the net in the final five minutes but was waved off due to an offsides call.

In the second the Trojans continued to struggle as they were being out sog 6-4 heading into the second half of the final period. Following a header from Barton that was saved by Trojan keeper Taylor Lewis, Mount Olive countered and 33 seconds later Kali Schindler launched a shot from the center over the Bulldogs keeper into the top left corner.

Barton was held to just one shot for the final nine minutes and the Trojans took the 1-0 win.

Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Kali Schindler who scored her first goal of the season for the Trojans.

Bulldog Leaders
Barton was led by Olivia Bronson with four shots, three on goal.

Key Stat
Both teams equalized each other with shots on goal as each squad had five on frame in the contest.

"Tonight I thought the girls did amazing going on the road to our biggest rival and getting all three points. They showed a lot of heart, togetherness, and toughness that will definitely help us down the road," said Head Coach Sharif Saber.
