Box Score Lakeland, Florida - The No.13 University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse team fell short to Florida Southern 13-10 in non-conference action Sunday afternoon in Lakeland, Florida.
INSIDE THE SCORE
Florida Southern took the early advantage scoring the first goal to take the lead 1-0 for the Mocs. Lucas Shein responded back for the Trojans finding an opening to tie the game 1-1 with 11:34 remaining. Evan Floyd was able to put two unassisted shots in the back of the net to give UMO their first lead of the game 3-1 to end the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Mocs proved to be the offensive powerhouse as five goals were scored to take the 6-3 lead with only 3:59 remaining going into the half. With only three seconds to spare, Brody Sullivan was able to put one more away, but Mount Olive still trailed 6-4 heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, FSC still had the hot hand and scored three goals to continue to keep the 9-4 lead. Mount Olive's Shein found Chance Urban for a score and drew the deficit to 9-5 with 5:11 remaining in the quarter. The Mocs controlled the remainder of the quarter by not giving up the lead and only allowed UMO to put up one more goal as they kept the 11-6 lead to end the third quarter.
In the final quarter, Shein scored twice for the Trojans and Urban, and Blake Tallon added one each, but it proved not to be enough as UMO couldn't close the gap. The Mocs closed out the contest with two goals and took the 13-10 victory.

The Trojans were led by Lucas Shein with four goals and one assist.

The Mocs were led by Thomas Frank with four goals and three assists.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game was when the Mocs controlled the third quarter by only allowing the Trojans to score two as they scored five to take the lead for the remainder of the game.

Mount Olive will return to action on March 11 when the Trojans travel to Tampa, Florida to take on the University of Tampa. The first face-off is set for 8 p.m.
