Trojan Track & Field Compete At Last Chance Meets

BOSTON/NEW YORK, Massachusetts/New York - The University of Mount Olive men's track and field team competed for their chance to qualify for the NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field National Championship at two last chance meets in Boston and New York this past weekend. The Trojans saw three NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks hit.

MEET INFORMATION
The Trojan men's and women's teams saw their seventh combined NCAA Provisional mark hit of the indoor season over the weekend.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

On the women's side, Taylor Moncrief (1.68m) hit an NCAA Provo in the high jump breaking the UMO school record in the process. She is now tied for 30th in Division II and took first in both the Boston and New York meets. Sydney McCoy (7.63/7.67) hit an NCAA Provo in the 60m as well twice. 

In other events; Amber Owens (18:26.39) moved into 4th all-time in the 5000m. Malak Kafi placed 2nd and third in her respective event.

On the men's side, Jereamy Hall (14:27.34) hit an NCAA Provo in the 5000m moving into second in the UMO record book and now sits 32nd in Division II.

In other events; Zach Jenkins (6.91) improved his 3rd-place mark in the UMO record book in the 60m. Eian Hines took first in the long jump while his brother Ethan Hines finished fifth in the event at the Boston last chance. Eian Hines took 6th in the LJ at the New York last chance while Ethan finished 5th.

The Trojans await selections to the NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field National Championship March 3.
