MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive softball team defeated Shaw University 11-0, 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon in Mount Olive, North Carolina. With the first win of the day, UMO broke a 20-year-old school record with a 13 game win streak, extending it to 14 in the second game of the doubleheader.

GAME ONE INFORMATION

The Trojans started off scoring one run in the bottom of the first inning from an Alyssa Pickle fielder's choice. The score was extended to 5-0 for UMO in the second inning coming from multiple singles and sloppy defense from the Bears. The Trojans added six more runs in the next two innings that was capped off by a home run by Pickle. UMO took the first game 11-0 via the five-inning mercy rule.

TROJAN LEADERS
The Trojans were led by Amber Parker with two hits and three RBI. In the circle, Hailey Brogden also threw a complete game shutout only giving up one hit.

SHAW UNIVERSITY LEADERS
The Bears were led by Destiny Beckham with one hit.

KEY MOMENT
The key moment came when the Trojans added four runs in the second inning to push the lead to 5-0.

GAME TWO INFORMATION
The Trojans started the second game the same way the finished the first one, scoring one run in the bottom of the second inning. They continued to add two runs in the bottom of the third, then another three in the bottom of the sixth to extend their lead to 6-0.

The Bears scored their only run of the day in the top of the 7th inning, but UMO took the victory in game two 6-1.

TROJAN LEADERS
The Trojans were led by Ashley Mick who had one run, two hits, and two RBI. In the circle, Mallory Ratcliff only surrendered one run on four hits and had four strikeouts on the day.

SHAW UNIVERSITY LEADERS
The Bears were led by Marisa Richardson with one run and one hit.

KEY MOMENT
The key moment was when UMO scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to push the lead 6-0.
