GAFFNEY, South Carolina - The No. 11 University of Mount Olive baseball team completed the three-game sweep of Limestone College on the road at Founders FCU Stadium in Gaffney, S.C. Sunday 9-4. UMO improves to 12-2 overall and 3-0 in conference, while Limestone falls to 2-13, 0-3. The series in the Conference Carolinas opener for both squads.

INSIDE THE SCORE
Mount Olive in run-packed second inning saw Zack Smith plate the first run on an RBI-single through the left side. James Smibert also answered the call for UMO with a three-run blast to center to push Mount Olive in front 4-0.

Limestone answered with three runs in the bottom of the second and drew the deficit down to just one.

The long ball paid off again for the Trojans as both Dusty Baker and Gunner Tolston hit one deep accounting for three runs and extended the UMO lead to 7-3.

The Trojans went onto add two more insurance runs in the fifth that proved to be enough to hold off Limestone's single run in the eighth as Mount Olive took game three 9-4 and sweet the series.

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Caleb Irwin (3-0) got the win for the Trojans going six complete allowing only five hits, surrendering three runs and struck out four. James Smibert led UMO with three RBI on the heels of a 1-for-4 performance. 

LIMESTONE LEADERS
The Saints were led by Trace Whetsell with a team-high two RBI.

KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game came in the third when the Trojans had two home runs that put the game out of reach.
