Mount Olive, NC – The Trojans received multiple All-Conference honors this Tuesday with nominations for
Rowan Watt,
Aidan Newton, and
Jakhari Howard.
Rowan Watt was selected for first team all-conference in the Utility position, locking down the second base position and moving across the infield. Watt put an impressive batting average of .315 with 40 runs scored, 57 hits, and team leading 51 RBIs, ranking high in the conference for RBIs. He ranks an impressive 3
rd in the nation for doubles with 22 on the season.
Aidan Newton was selected for second team all-conference after an impressive showing for the Trojans. He lead the team with an impressive 2.99 ERA across 75.1 innings, garnering 75 strikeouts, ranking in the top 30 in the nation. Newton handles most of the business in the mid series games for the Trojans, anchoring the weekend series with a 7-2 record and ranks 5
th in the nation for complete games pitch.
Jakhari Howard receives a hard earned second team all-conference and all-defense team nomination. Howard leads the team with hits, batting average and runs scored, with .389 BA, bringing in 56 runs on 65 hits, capping it off with 38 RBIs. Howard has done a spectacular job getting on base for the Trojans with a 1.092 OPS. Finally, he was also selected for the all-conference team for his terrific outfield presence.
The Trojans look to continue showcasing their abilities as they face the #3 Belmont Abbey in the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Wednesday in Gastonia, NC at 7:00 PM.
