Box Score 2 HICKORY, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive softball team won the doubleheader at the Lenior-Rhyne Bear Bash against Virginia State and Johnson C. Smith 7-3, 14-2 on Sunday afternoon in Hickory, N.C.
GAME THREE INFORMATION
Mount Olive got an early start from the beginning when Eileen Barrera put the Trojans up 1-0 when scoring Amber Parker by an error. The Trojans add another two RBI with Barrera and Morgan Madison scoring to end the scoring threat for the Trojans in the first.
Virginia State answered back at the top of the second inning scoring three runs tying the game at three.
The Trojans took the lead 6-3 at the bottom of the third scoring another three runs by Kaitlin Fulford, Hannah Burress, and Cassandra Lassiter with RBIs by Lassiter with one and Bryant.
The Trojans finished off Virginia State at the bottom of the fourth by Pickle adding another RBI to advance Parker to home plate with the Trojans winning 7-3.
TROJAN LEADERS
The Trojans offense was led by Alyssa Pickle with one run and three RBIs.
VIRGINIA STATE LEADERS
The VSU Trojans were led by Jada Smith, Zanyah Ailsworth, and Leah Harrison all had one run.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment came in the bottom of the third when Mount Olive was able to plate three runs and didn't surrender the lead.
GAME FOUR INFORMATION
Mount Olive dominated the Golden Bulls in the first inning with nine runs. Madison Morgan highlighted the inning with a two-run home run to left-center. Seven of our other Trojans record RBI in the inning to explode UMO's lead out to 9-0 after just the first inning.
The Trojans added another four runs in the bottom of the third inning to expand the lead to 13-0.
At the top of the fourth, the Golden Bulls answered back with two runs, but the Trojans added another run in the bottom of the fourth to win via the mercy rule 14-2.

The Trojans were led by Amber Parker with two runs and two RBIs.

The Golden Bulls were led by Alexis D'Louchy with one run.

The key moment came in the bottom of the first inning when the Trojans scored nine runs to take the lead 9-0.
