ELON, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team fell to Division I Elon University 7-0 in a spring exhibition matchup Saturday in Elon, N.C.
MATCH INFORMATION
The Phoenix held the early lead after the doubles round winning doubles 2 and 3. Elon then swept the singles matches with Mount Olive taking a 7-0 victory.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
Elon in the No. 2 doubles match took down the Trojans duo of Ece Yuksel and Ariana Orozco winning 6-0 for the first doubles point. Ingrid Montero and Deike Schipper fought hard in the No. 3 match, but fell 6-4 surrendering the second doubles point.
Mount Olive did not go down without challenging the Phoenix as in the No. 2 singles match Liza Voloshyna took down Victoria Saldh 6-2 in the opening set before falling 6-0 and 6-1 in the only singles match to go three.

COACHES COMMENTS
"I was excited about our experience playing D1 Elon on Saturday. We learned a lot and will go into this week with great enthusiasm in practice," said head coach Kevin Coghill.
