DUE WEST, South Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's volleyball team defeated the Flying Fleet of Erskine College in straight sets, 25-19 25-14 25-23 on Friday night inside Belk Arena in Due West, S.C.

GAME INFORMATION
The opening set started fairly even with neither side taking much control until Erskine used three unanswered points to take a two-point lead 6-4. Mount Olive responded with a 6-to-1 run and regained the lead at 10-7 and the Flying Fleet never saw the lead again as the Trojans closed out the set on a 3-0 run and took the first set 25-19.

Mount Olive took a four-point lead early in the second set 8-4 and saw the Flying Fleet draw the deficit down to two at 11-9, however, a big run was in the making for the visitors. The offense for UMO exploded to close out the set outscoring EC 14-to-5 and took the second set 25-14.

The final set tilted towards Erskine for a majority of the set as the Fleet held their largest lead of the match at 14-8 after a 6-to-1 run. UMO kept the battle close and after being down 18-13 turned on the pressure and scored six unanswered of their own to regain the lead by one. The two squads exchanged points for the next couple of points and even with EC tying the set at 22 UMO was able to close out the match on a 3-to-1 run and take the final set 25-23.

TROJAN LEADERS
The Trojans were led by Troy Magorien with 11 kills in the match. Shane Yeo tallied 32 of the team's 35 assists and Ryan Lynch led the defense recording six digs.

ERSKINE LEADERS
The Flying Fleet were led by Edge Austin with nine kills. Francisco Pomar collected 20 assists and tallied seven digs. 

KEY MOMENT
The key moment came in the second set when UMO capitalized on a 14-to-5 run to win the second set and use that momentum to win the third set coming back from six to regain the lead and win the match.
