MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's volleyball team defeated the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College in straight sets, 25-17 27-25 25-18 on Tuesday night inside Kornegay Arena.

GAME INFORMATION
Mount Olive started the first set on fire taking the first two points and shooting out to a 10-to-3 lead after a 7-1 run by the home-standing Trojans. UMO maintained control of the set only allowing the lead to drop below six once before taking the final point on a Jarrod Ferguson ace.

The second set started similarly to the first with UMO taking a 3-1 lead, but Belmont Abbey was able to tie the set twice before taking a two-point lead at 9-7. The set remained much closer with neither side gaining more than a three point advantage and the end of the set was poised to be a thriller. Down, 23-21 UMO scored three unanswered points between a BAC timeout and regained the lead 24-23. Following two Crusader points, Eric Visgitis started what ended up being the final three points for UMO as the Trojans took set two 27-25

The final set saw once again a tightly played set until, down 14-13, UMO sparked a run 8-to-1 to regain the lead and control of the set and close the match out for the set and match win.

TROJAN LEADERS
The Trojans were led by Troy Magorien with 13 kills in the match. Shane Yeo tallied 31 of the team's 34 assists and Jarrod Ferguson led the defense recording 10 digs.

BELMONT ABBEY LEADERS
The Crusaders were led by Liam Maxwell with 17 kills. Brennan Davis collected 26 assists and tallied three digs. 

KEY MOMENT
The key moment came in the third set when UMO used an 8-to-1 run to gain the momentum to win the final set and the match 3-0.
