Box Score MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The 17th-ranked University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse team opened up Conference Carolinas play with a 19-2 win over the Chowan University Hawks Wednesday afternoon at the Ray McDonald Sr Sports Complex in Mount Olive, N.C.

How It Happened
Play-by-Play
FIRST QUARTER
- Mount Olive won the game's first faceoff and had a shot on goal within the first two minutes as Thatcher Clark found the back of the net with 13:43.
- The Trojans completely shut down the Chowan offense for the first 10 minutes of the quarter not allowing the Hawks more than two possessions and exploding to a 9-0 lead.
- UMO had goals scored by Thatcher Clark (2), Cameron Bope, Nick Peterson, Connor Watson, Tyler Keele (3) and Tavian Cooley.
- Chowan was finally able to get a successful clear at the 5:32 mark but another turnover led to more UMO time off the clock.
- Following a CU turnover, Austin Whitlow found Brody Sullivan for the 10th goal with just over a minute to play.
SECOND QUARTER
- The second quarter was no different than quarter number one except the scoring slowed down for the Trojans as Mount Olive pushed home four more goals.
- Tim De Ceuster and Max Quinn in their first games playing as a Trojan found the back of the net for their first goals at the 14:01 and 3:22 marks respectively.
- Brody Sullivan and Nathan Bradley also added to the scoring run increasing the Mount Olive lead to 14-0 heading into halftime.
THIRD QUARTER
- Chowan scored the only goal of the third quarter snapping a 14 goal streak by the Trojans and preventing the shutout with 1:49 left in the quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Bradley started off the next scoring run for UMO that saw the freshman from Swansboro score twice along with Blake Tallon, Lucas Shein, and Bope.
- The Hawks were not held without another score however as with seconds remaining Chowan scored making the final 19-2.
