FIRST QUARTER
- The opening 11 minutes of the contest were a defensive struggle as neither team could find a breakthrough.
- Senior Brett Kingston broke the stalemate with a pair of goals in the final four minutes of the opening quarter to give UMO a 2-0 lead over Coker.
SECOND QUARTER
- Mount Olive increased its advantage to open the second period, as senior Jesse Mitchell scored off an assist by sophomore Thatcher Clark that pushed UMO ahead 3-0.
- Coker responded with its first goal with 8:52 remaining in the first half.
- The Trojans closed the half with five unanswered goals, including Kingston's third of the first half with 5:07 left in the quarter, that gave UMO an 8-1 advantage heading into the halftime break.
THIRD QUARTER
- Coker trimmed the Trojans' lead to 8-2 with a goal 4:56 into the second half.
- Junior Jacob Ball and senior Nick Correra each added a score to push UMO in front 10-2 with 7:18 remaining in the quarter.
- The Cobras responded with a pair of goals before the Trojans answered with three more to provide UMO with a 13-4 lead through three quarters.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The offensive onslaught continued for the Trojans in the final 15 minutes as UMO outscored Coker 6-1 in the final period in route to the Trojans' 19-5 victory.
KEY STATS
- Kingston led the way with five goals for the Trojans.
- Ball also recorded a hat trick for UMO, while junior Cody Graden and freshmen Nick Petersen and Tim Collins each added a pair of goals in the victory.
- For the second-straight match, junior Cole Groebner led the way with three caused turnovers and five groundballs.
- Junior Will Urban (2-0) shined in goal for the Trojans, earning the victory with 12 saves.
- UMO outshot the Cobras, 44-34, and won the faceoff battle, 19-7.
