Box Score Jake Duarte scored three goals and assisted on two more goals as nationally ninth-ranked University of Mount Olive got back on the winning track with a 10-2 victory over Southern New Hampshire University in non-conference men's lacrosse Saturday. The game was played at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.
Mount Olive (5-1) built a 4-0 lead in the first period as Duarte scored the first two goals and added an assist. Duarte scored again in the second period and assisted on Cody Dowling's goal to give the Trojans a 7-0 halftime lead.
Southern New Hampshire broke up the shutout in the third period before Mount Olive answered with a goal by Spencer Gelinas and two goals by Alex Tindall.
Ross Bowman recorded 10 saves on 24 shots.
Mount Olive returns to action Wednesday as the Trojans play host to nationally fourth-ranked Lake Erie in a non-conference match-up. Game time is 4 p.m. at Amon Field.
