MOUNT OLIVE – After a tense 63 minutes game the University of Mount Olive Trojans were able to pull out the win 8-7 in overtime against the #24 ranked Chargers of Alabama Huntsville.
A slow first half with consistent back and forth action left the Trojans with only one goal made by
Katie Broom in the second quarter. The third and fourth quarter is where UMO brought the heat scoring five goals in a row to get the in lead. Broom a consistent player for Mount Olive contributed a total of four goals, two ground balls, and won five draw controls.
Other goal scorers for the Trojans were
Morghan Pollock,
Jazna Dumont,
Jordan Bolam, and game winning goal scorer Karsyn Elliot who also had an assist Dumont's goal in the fourth.
Defensively,
Giavahna Gasdia caused three turnovers, grabbing four ground balls, and won two draw controls.
After this ranked game the Mount Olive Trojans advance to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in conference.
