BELMONT ABBEY – After a hard-fought game, Mount Olive women's lacrosse team brings home an 11-7 win against conference opponent Belmont Abbey College.

Standout athlete for the competition was Morghan Pollock who scored six goals and one assist. She had eight shots, all of them being on goal. The other scorers were Alexa Fitzgerald, Karsyn Elliot, Maddy Fratus, Libby Berg, and Katie Broom.

Broom continues to be the draw control leader for the Trojans with four in the game, while teammates Berg and Giavahna Gasdia follow in suit with two DCs each. Gasdia also had three ground balls with Simone McCraw.
Goalkeeper, Ruby Burandt, had eight saves to take the win in her 60 minutes of play.

UMO had a total of 26 shots 20 being on goal, causing five turnovers, winning 11 draw controls, and taking 17 ground balls to win the game.

The Trojans were able to show out in the hour and 53 minutes of play creating a tense but exhilarating game.

Mount Olives' next game will be at home against Alabama Huntsville Mar. 21 at 11 a.m.
