MOUNT OLIVE — The Mount Olive Trojans women's basketball team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday evening, honoring four seniors — Kayla Jackson,
Savannah McAfee,
Jada Priebe, and
Aniyah Vanhook — before falling to King University, 75-65.
Jerin Truesdale led the Trojans offensively, finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds, adding defensive pressure throughout the game. Savannah McAfee also secured a double-double on an 18-point, 10-rebound performance.
Fellow senior Aniyah Vanhook contributed eight points and nine rebounds, while providing key effort on both ends of the floor while
Kayla Jackson added five points. Senior
Jada Priebe was honored prior to tipoff for her contributions to the program during her Mount Olive career.
Mount Olive battled throughout the contest, highlighted by a strong third quarter where the Trojans outscored King 21–12 to pull back into the game.
Jerin Truesdale posted a strong all-around performance, as the Trojans controlled the paint and competed until the final horn.
Senior Day marked a meaningful moment for the Mount Olive program, as teammates, coaches, and fans celebrated the dedication, leadership, and lasting impact of Jackson, McAfee, Priebe, and Vanhook in a Trojan uniform
The Trojans head to Young Harris, Ga. on Monday to face the Mountain Lions in a 3 p.m tipoff.
