Mount Olive, NC (Feb. 14) - The Mount Olive Trojans fought hard against the Trojans of Anderson University losing 10-4 in a non-conference competition.
Mount Olive found the net in every quarter, getting goals from
Jazna Dumont,
Jordan Bolam,
Katie Broom, and
Hailey Morgan. Dumont opened the scoring for the Trojans in the first quarter off an assist from
Morghan Pollock. Bolam and Broom each converted free-position opportunities, while Morgan added a free-position goal and a man-up score in the fourth.
The Trojans totaled 21 shots and 19 ground balls, with strong possession numbers highlighted by an impressive 24-of-25 clearing performance. Defensively, Mount Olive forced 23 turnovers and recorded 14 caused turnovers.
Simone McCraw led the way with four ground balls and four caused turnovers, while
Giavahna Gasdia added three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
In goal,
Molly Pulliam made five saves in 31:47 of action, and
Ruby Burandt added two saves over the final 28 minutes.
