MURFREESBORO - Mount Olive was unable to overcome a strong second-half push by Chowan, falling 70–52 Wednesday evening at the Hawks Athletic Center.

The Trojans faced an early deficit after Chowan took a 17–9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Mount Olive responded with improved play in the second period, outscoring the Hawks 16–15 to head into halftime trailing 32–25.

Chowan created separation in the third quarter, limiting Mount Olive to 10 points while extending its advantage to 50–35 heading into the final frame. Despite continued effort on both ends of the floor, the Trojans were unable to close the gap as the Hawks maintained control down the stretch.

Jayla Hicks led the charge for the Trojans with 17 points and five rebounds, followed by Jerin Truesdale with 13 points and Aniyah Vanhook with 12.

The Trojans return home this Saturday to face Erskine at 12 p.m. in Kornegay Arena.
