MISENHEIMER - The Mount Olive men's cross country team saw Evan Hall set a career-best as well as three runners place within the top-15 at the Pfeiffer University Cross Country Invitational on Friday to lead the team to a second place finish in the 8k.

Out of eight teams, the Trojans finished second with 64 points, just behind hosts Pfeiffer who secured 17 points for the team title.

Evan Hall, who finished sixth at 26:46.5, beat his career time of 27:08.4 set in 2023 at the Royals Challenge.

Leo Powell (8th, 26:54.6) and Arterm Meltsaiev (12th, 27:24.4) each finished within the top-15 of the field.

Four Trojans finished closely amongst themselves in the pack: Josh Hendren in 23rd (28:19.9), Ayden Thompson in 25th (28:27.9), Trevor Greenier in 27th (28:30.5), and Titus Tanui in 28th (28:49.9).

To round out Mount Olive, Spencer Rundell placed 32nd (29:22.0), Cullen Pfanmiller in 40th (29:45.3), Devin Coughlin in 69th (33:27.7), and James Cabrera in 90th (40:55.3).

The next meet for the Trojans will be at the Chanticleer Challenge in Conway, S.C. hosted by Coastal Carolina.
