CONWAY, S.C. - In a stacked meet featuring five Division I and four Division II programs, the University of Mount Olive men's cross country team posted the top Division II finish at the Chanticleer Challenge hosted by Coastal Carolina on Friday.

The Trojans scored 165 points to place fifth overall, finishing behind UNC Wilmington (142), College of Charleston (61), Coastal Carolina (34), and Richmond (29).

Evan Hall led Mount Olive with 21st-place finish in the men's 8k, running 25:04.8.

Ayden Thompson placed 46th (26:44.5), Leo Powell 49th (27.11:9), Josh Hendren 52nd (27:26.8), Spencer Rundell 56th (27:46.6) and Titus Tanui 57th (27:52.6).

Cullen Pfanmiller finished 70th (29:31.2), Benjamin Bailey 75th (31:56.5),  Devon Coughlin 77th (34:38.8) and Adam Hill 78th (35:49.1).

Mount Olive's next competition will be in South Carolina in the Sand Shark Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11, before the Conference Carolinas Championship in Kernersville, NC on Oct. 24.
