GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 17) – The University of Mount Olive has been chosen by its peers as the Athletic Communications Staff of the Year in Conference Carolinas for the 2024-25 academic year.
The UMO Athletic Communications staff is comprised of Assistant Director of Athletics/Media & Communications
Alex King, and graduate assistants
Alisia Lovejoy and
Dominic Nutter. Additionally, Trojan Sports Network Anchor
Alex Hayden, the Voice of the Trojans
Shane Aube, and multiple student-workers provide significant contributions to the gameday operations at Mount Olive.
"It is a great honor to receive this accolade from our fellow colleagues. The day-to-day operations of our office would not be possible without the efforts of our graduate assistants, interns, student-workers,
Alex Hayden and
Shane Aube. This recognition is a testament to the hard work, passion, and dedication of our entire team," expressed King. "It is not just about the victories on the field, but the story we get to tell off it. Every moment, every athlete, and every game is an opportunity to connect with our community and share the incredible journey of our student-athletes. I'm incredibly proud of the staff and grateful for the chance to be a part of such a supportive and inspiring environment."
King recently completed third year at the University of Mount Olive and serves as the primary contact for all 25 intercollegiate sports, manages the athletic website, and produces publications for the department. Lovejoy and Nutter will both be entering their second year as graduate assistants for the Trojans. The duo handles day-to-day operations in the office, manages student-workers, produces the webstream for the Trojan Sports Network, and serve as statisticians at home events.
"It is great to see Alex, Alisia and Dominic recognized for their great work at Mount Olive," Conference Carolinas Commissioner Chris Colvin said. "Their dedication to Mount Olive and willingness to help Conference Carolinas at conference championships throughout the season hasn't gone unnoticed."
The Athletic Communications Staff of the Year award is voted on by each member athletic communications department.
