Lahey, Colombo named NCAA statistical champions

INDIANAPOLIS (June 24) – The University of Mount Olive men's volleyball featured a pair of 2025 NCAA Division I statistical champions, as junior Jackson Lahey led the country in assists per set and freshman Luca Colombo finished atop the country in digs per set. The NCAA confirmed the average in June and the duo will be presented with a plaque recognizing the achievement.

Lahey finished the 2025 season with 10.85 assists per set, ahead of second-place Ryan McElligott of Loyola Chicago (10.81 assists/set) and Caleb Blanchette of Southern California finished third with 10.61 assists per set. This season, Lahey was named an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, becoming just the third All-American honoree at Mount Olive. He also was the Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year honor and set the all-time assists record in program history.

Colombo tallied 2.96 digs per set to pace NCAA Division I, Central State's Benjamin Latham placed second with 2.93 (digs/set) and Zac Clark of Maryville recorded 2.76 digs per set. In 2025, Colombo was the first-ever Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the same season. He totaled double-digit digs in 13 matches this year while registering a career-high 18 at Erskine.
