Mount Olive Picked Second in 2026 Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's volleyball team enters the 2026 season picked to finish second in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll, as announced by the league Thursday morning.

The Trojans earned 44 points and collected two first-place votes, finishing just behind Belmont Abbey, which tallied 48 points and six first-place votes as it seeks a third consecutive conference title.

Barton (35), North Greenville (31), and Erskine (24) rounded out the top five, followed by King (20), Lees-McRae (13), and Emmanuel (9).


Players to watch for Mount Olive include Jackson Lahey, Luca Colombo, and Kory Grant, all of whom earned First Team All-Conference honors last season. Lahey also received AVCA All-American Honorable Mention and Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year accolades, while Colombo claimed Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors.


Mount Olive opens the season on the road at Penn State in University Park, Pa. on Friday, Jan. 9, before returning home for its home opener against Charleston on Feb. 6 at 4 p.m.
