Box Score WILSON – The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team fell 99-90 to Wingate on the final day of the 45-Second Classic hosted by Barton College on Saturday morning.

Wingate opened the game with a 12-0 run before the Trojans answered with seven straight points sparked by Christian Ananaba. The Bulldogs pushed their lead to 16 and entered halftime up 46-34.

Mount Olive trimmed the margin with a 15-9 run in the second half, but Wingate's hot perimeter shooting proved decisive. The Bulldogs hit 13 threes and held off the Trojans' late push.

Despite outscoring Wingate in points off turnovers (18-9), second-chance points (27-17), and fast-break points (20-15), the Trojans couldn't overcome the Bulldogs' shooting.

Raul Perez posted an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Redford Dunton added 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Six Trojans scored in double figures: Matt Kirby and Ananaba (14), Dunton and Jaevian Alston (13), and
Jefferson McLamb and Perez (11).

Mount Olive travels to Raleigh on Monday for a 6 p.m. tipoff at Shaw.
