DURHAM, N.C. – Junior goalkeeper Anais Coyne anchored the University of Mount Olive women's soccer team to its first shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Shaw on Wednesday.
Coyne needed just one save as the Trojans limited Shaw to a single shot on goal in 90 minutes, securing her second win of the year.
Mount Olive controlled the attack with five times as many shots on target. Malia Acevedo delivered the game-winner in the 65th minute, her team-leading second goal of the season. She also leads UMO in shots with 26.
The Trojans continue their road trip Saturday at Southern Wesleyan with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
